Världsregering enligt Hannah Arendt

Hannah Arendts kritik mot världsregering och centralstyre är kraftfull:

"For the real difficulty in speculating on these matters is that the final resort should not be super national but interrnational. A supernational authority would either be ineffective or be monopolized by the nation that happens to be the strongest, and so would lead to world government, which could easily become the most frightful tyranny conceivable, since from its global police force there would be no escape—until it finally fell apart."¹ 

I samma kapitel förespråkar hon att alla medborgare är med i råd på ca 10 personer. Dessa samordnas i federationer. Makten flödar på så sätt horisontellt snarare än uppifrån eller nedifrån.
